WELCOME

Don DudeyKiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Kiwanis International Capital District was established in 1918. It is comprised of eight Regions, 21 Divisions, and approximately 180 individual clubs serving individual communities throughout Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Members in every corner of the Capital District are committed to developing future generations of leaders through guidance and example. They are ordinary people that believe one can make a difference. Our Kiwanis Family eagerly serves the District with projects ranging from pre-school reading programs to building playgrounds to sponsoring Service Leadership Programs, and so very much more.

DID YOU KNOW? The year 2015 is Kiwanis’ 100th anniversary. By that year, 20,000 Capital District adult Kiwanians will provide 350,000 service hours, invest $4,400,000 to support community needs, and sponsor 860 Service Leadership Program clubs throughout Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. You can be one of them!

The Eliminate Project

The Kiwanis global campaign for children, The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus, aims to save the lives of a 129 million mothers and newborns. In partnership with UNICEF, Kiwanis is eliminating a disease that kills one baby every nine minutes. Kiwanis and UNICEF are targeting the poorest, most underserved women and children on Earth, and paving the way for other interventions that will boost maternal health and child survival. Hand-in-hand, Kiwanis and UNICEF are changing the world. Visit www.TheEliminateProject.org to learn more.
